Hello! My name is Josephine Njungi, Action Researcher extraordinaire! I am passionate about Action Research which I have been actively undertaking since 2016. I am also passionate about young people - seeing them grow in the spaces they desire to occupy; finding their niche and purpose in the said space; and at times, changing spaces either because it was not the right space in the first place OR they have outgrown it and need to move on to another. My career took off in the year 2002 and since then I have acquired a wealth of experience in areas such as strategy development and implementation; management of partnerships; social research; monitoring, evaluation and learning of projects and programmes; budget development and monitoring; and supporting social audits among others. Her experience has been working in the development and humanitarian sector in the following thematic areas - emergency education, vocational training, gender, governance, human rights, food security, water hygiene and sanitation and health & nutrition. Prior to going into research full-time, I worked with various development organisations and programmes including Oxfam in Somalia, Concern Universal Kenya, ActionAid International Kenya, Oxfam GB Pan Africa Programme among others. I have a Masters in Participation, Power and Social Change from The Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex (UK). I also hold a BA in International Relations, minor in Psychology and an interest in Spanish. Besides leading the Action Research projects at Research PLUS Africa, I am also the Director of Strategy and Planning.
